Aluminium 7050 Hexagonal Bars contain nearly 90% aluminium and are alloyed with zinc (6.2%), magnesium (2.3%), and copper (2.3%). The mixture increases the strength, toughness, and stress corrosion cracking resistance of the material. The alloy has a tensile strength of usually 510 to 570 MPa and a yield strength of 435 to 505 MPa, which makes it applicable in heavy-duty use. With a Brinell hardness of 150–170 HB and good resistance to fatigue, Aluminium 7050 provides high mechanical performance and retention of machinability and load stability.
