A minimum of 99.0% pure aluminium makes up Aluminium 1100 Coils, with trace amounts of silicon, manganese, copper (0.05–0.20%), iron (up to 0.95%), and zinc. This alloy is renowned for its exceptional formability, high electrical and thermal conductivity, and resistance to corrosion. Mechanical characteristics include a Brinell hardness of about 27 HB, a tensile strength of about 90–125 MPa, a yield strength of about 35 MPa, and an elongation of about 35–40%. Although aluminium 1100 cannot be heated, it reacts well to cold working, which makes it perfect for forming, bending, and drawing processes.
